Virtual Private Server Hosting, or VPS Hosting, is an internet hosting service, which stands out from other similar services, by being, as it says in the title, private. There are many other hosting services, but there are only a few offering total privacy to the customer. It is a virtual machine, which runs in software on any computer, but the unique thing about VPS is that even though it can run on the same software on the same computer, it can still be private to the customer using it. This, in essence, creates a completely new server for the entire computer from which other software can run and files accessed. Because the whole point is that it is private, there are also very easy and quick ways of being able to set privacy settings onto the virtual machine such as private questions or passwords.
